BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Community Building

July 17, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

 

 

Attending board members: Sue Aldred, Emali Porter, Sid Dev, Matt Benecke, Jill Dzekunskas, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Absent: Julius Maes

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

 

May Board Minutes, June Treasurers’ Report, and July Invoices payable

Motion to approve Matt Benecke, 2nd Jill Dzekunskas, roll call vote all ayes.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman –Water generator temporarily not working. Looking into a replacement or fixing. Sewer Ammonium level is less than .1, which is outstanding. Waiting on full length pipe to replace the shorter pipes for the water meter replacements.

Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –1 Permit.

Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred – Discussion on property owners not taking care of their property. More letters have been sent out. Discussion of sharing a police officer with other small communities.

Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Kewanee transfer station was closed due to the storms. Garbage was taken to Princeton transfer station.

Streets – Matt Benecke –Ace in The Hole will start at the end of July. Matt turned in his resignation because he is moving. Thank you to Matt Benecke for serving on the board and working with the street department.

Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Nothing to report.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Budget – Discussion on budget.

Shelter in the Park & IDNR Grant – Engineering will be starting at the end of the week.

Housing Rehab Round 2 –We are in the application phase. If you want to apply, please stop by the office to get an application as soon as possible.

Electronic Sign – In progress.

 

Sid Dev made a motion to move into Executive Session, 2nd Jill Dzekunska, all ayes.

Side Dev made a motion to move to regular session, 2nd Matt Benecke, all ayes.
