BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Community Building

September 18, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

 

 

Attending board members: Emali Porter, Jill Dzekunskas, and Mayor Dave Mueller. Julius Maes, Sid Dev, Sue Aldred, Steve Blades

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

Lauren Roof read the oath and entered as a Village of Neponset Police Officer.

 

July Board Minutes, July Treasurers’ Report, and August Invoices payable

Motion to approve Sid Dev, 2nd Julius Maes, roll call vote all ayes.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Water and Sewer – Sid Dev/Markus Chapman –Pump house #4 is now operational. New water meters are all installed on the north side of town. If you have dirt in your lines, run cold water until it runs clear. The dirt is not coming from our main line, it comes from the resident’s water line. We are waiting for parts for the sewer pumps on Harlan Street. Jordan Scott is pumping them out until the new parts arrive. Everyone putting in the new water meters is doing a good job.

Community Events & Building Permits – Emali Porter –1 building permits, one solar permit.

Police & Ordinances - Sue Aldred – The new officer will be working 20 hours per week. One resident has refused to allow us to install a meter on their property. We have turned it over to our attorney.

Garbage & Emergency Plan – Jill Dzekunskas – Nothing to report.

Streets – Steve Blades –Nothing to report.

Village Equipment – Julius Maes – Nothing to report.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Budget – Discussion on budget.

Shelter in the Park & IDNR Grant – Willett Hofmann will be here next week to survey the park project.

Housing Rehab Round 2 –Looked at 8 of the homes that qualify. We need a few more to apply.

Electronic Sign – The contract is ready for signatures.

A motion was made to proceed with a Notice of Condemnation Structure Unfit for Humal Occupancy and Correction order at 106 E Main Street, Neponset, IL 61345, all ayes. Motion carried.
